Film Fervor: Episode 68 – Carla Vila

Hello everyone! Today I spoke with Carla Vila, a rising star in Hollywood who can be seen on the second season of the hit TV series True Detective on HBO. Carla is an amazing person with a great deal of passion and a drive to succeed in the film business. On this episode, we talk about her role on True Detective and how she got into acting and, possibly more importantly, what she intends to do with her success and rising fame.

Her family is from El Salvador and she has deep roots back to the community there. Amazingly, she wants to help bring the art of visual storytelling and film to the El Salvador people to help spark a new cultural and artistic revolution in a place that is still reeling from a long civil war.

You should really check out Carla and the work she is doing. She is, by far, one of the most inspirational people I’ve had on the show and I can’t thank her enough for coming on and doing this episode with me. I look forward to seeing what she does in the future.

Also, there’s a bit of a sneak about what is next for her: She is doing a documentary about the people of El Salvador. Although we don’t have a whole lot of details at the moment, I will be certain to cover this project in detail as more information becomes available, so make sure to check back often.
