When the Bough Breaks: A documentary about Postpartum Depression- With Jamielyn Lippman
Today I sat down with Jamielyn Lippman, a documentary filmmakers and actor who started her own production company to tell the stories that she wants to tell. Her documentary When the Bough Breaks is an incredible look into the often misunderstood world of postpartum depression. The film follows Lindsay Gerszt, a mother who has been suffering from PPD for six years. Lindsay agrees to let the cameras document her and give us an in depth look at her path to recovery. The powerful message behind the film isn’t just that PPD is real but it’s something that 1 in 5 women suffer from, to varying degrees, and it’s nothing to feel ashamed or stigmatized over.
